Class structure: Two longer technical skills or courses. These courses are geared towards more advanced teams but can be adjusted to suit less advanced level teams. The skills are designed for proofing dog training skills and more technical handling. Students will walk together as a group with the instructor and discuss various handling options. Each team will then run the course and the instructor will make suggestions to improve efficiency and may ask the student to redo part of the skill if needed. Student will then run entire skill again to smooth out any parts they had difficulty with and to improve speed and timing. Once all of the students have completed the first course students and instructor will move on to a second skill. We try and design skills that are conducive to proofing Contacts, weaves speed and independence, discriminations and jumping skills when ever possible.
These classes are popular and are managed through an email distribution list.

Come have fun with your young dog. Each class will start by going over with the group some “do on your own exercise stations”. These stations will focus on shaping desirable behaviors with clicker training, toy drive building, we will introduce: balance boards, multi surface exposure, limb awareness, core & cone work etc. Teams will then rotate on their own through these stations.
Each team will also take at least two turns to work one on one on a different skill with an instructor. Sessions with instructors will focus on exposure to certain agility obstacles emphasis on confidence building, Contacts will be introduced appropriately based on age and level of training each team has had. We will cover, Turns, Side Changes, Recalls, Foundation jumping, Sends, the use of restrained recalls and toy play.
