AGILITY FOUNDATION CLASSES

Agility Foundation One Classes:
6 Weeks: $150.00 Instuctor: Diane Harrington 
Tuesday PM: 6:00-7:00 Class Dates: 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11
New Semester Starts: 2/18, 2/25, 3/3, 3/10, 3/17, 3/24

This class is designed for puppies at least 5 months of age or adult dogs who have had no previous agility training. Dogs should have the following basic obedience skills: sit, down, recalls to side, stay and the ability to focus on their handler with other dogs near by.
Skills Covered: Developing handler focus when other dogs are working, Clicker training: two on two off, hind end awareness,  peanut ball & balance board work, Target training, Developing toy drive, Restrained recalls, Come to hand, recalls to heal, crosses on the flat, cone work and sends around jump standards. Also introduced in this session, introduction to the teeter, tunnels and different surfaces, inclines, steps and having fun!
Agility Foundation One Classes:

Agility Foundation Two Classes:
6 Weeks $150.00  Instructor: Diane Harrington     
Thursdays PM: 6:00-7:30: Class Dates: 12/12, 12/19, 12/26, 1/2, 1/9, 1/16
New Semester Starts: 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/20, 2/27

This class is a continuation of the above class. Lowered contact training will continue. Other low impact obstacles will be introduced including curved tunnels, low tire jump, and Jump bump grids. Teeter training will continue and introduction of a low dog walk. Weave entrance training with the two by two method. Dogs that are physically mature enough will continue towards 6 weave poles and collective jump foundation training. Very short Sequencing will also be started. Dogs should have Completed Agility Foundation One. 

Agility Foundation One Classes:

Foundation One is ideal for those new to agility or those looking to start a new dog. This class is designed for puppies at least 5 months of age or adult dogs who have had no previous agility training. Dogs should have the following basic obedience skills: sit, down, come, stay, and the ability to focus on their handler with other dogs nearby. Topics covered will prepare your dog for success in most dog sports.  Foundation class is not only for those looking to compete, as this class is designed to build confidence in your canine team in and out of the ring.

Agility Foundation Two Class:
6 Weeks, $150.00

Thursdays 7:15pm - 8:15pm
Class Dates: 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14 11/21, 12/5 (Note, no class 11/28)

This class is for dog/handler teams who have completed Agility Foundations One and are ready to move on to greater challenges.  Work will continue on lowered contact equipment (a-frame, teeter, dog walk), curved tunnels, and low jumps.  More advanced handling and short sequences will be introduced as we keep up with start line stays and recalls.  Dogs who are physically mature enough will start learning 2x2 weave entrances, working towards 6 poles.  Very short sequences will also be started.
